We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of a member of our staff, S.A. Premadasa, and the funeral took place on 1st June, 2017, in Kalutara.
During his stay at SLCDF Premadasa got the opportunity to travel with Staff to many of the project sites in different parts of the country and his friendly nature has brought tears to the eyes of all staff at SLCDF at head office and in the field and those who knew him.
His commitment, dedication, safe driving and he was always with a smile and ever lending a hand to any staff in true team spirit to get through the day’s work in office and on the road. Out in the field too, he is giving all the support to make travel easy and support the staff readily.
Several Donors and the Board of Management and the Head Office staff, the SILK Project Staff in Kilinochchi, Palmera Project Staff in Mullaitivu and Polonnaruwa, District Consortia and project participants in 18 districts who have met him, speak well of this kind and caring gentleman of a man, Premadasa.
During the recent rains his home went under water and while he was helping the village monk to get across in a canoe that it capsized in the strong winds and Premadasa fell into the gushing waters. A day later thanks to the sand miners who went under 20 feet deep muddy waters were able to recover the body.
He is survived by his wife and two school going sons. May he attain the blissful state of Nibbana!
