Orientation for stakeholders - Establishment of Civil Society structures for Official Language Policy” in session

Two more online orientation programmes for the Stakeholders relating to the “Establishment of Civil Society structures for Official Language Policy” in the Southern and Northern Provinces were successfully conducted by SLCDF on 24th and 26 November, 2020 respectively, from 9 AM – 12 noon on both days.

The project is supported by the National Languages Equality Advancement Project (NLEAP).

In the South orientation programme, partners of the Galle District Consortium (DC) in Nagoda and Yakkalamulla Divisional Secretaries’ Divisions (DSDs) and the partners in Kotapola and Weligama DSDs in Matara DC participated actively. also, Divisional Language Officers and Youth Officers along with Divisional Youth Leaders participated in this event.

In the North programme Kilinochchi DC President and Coordinator along with representatives from two partner organizations participated actively.

From SLCDF, the Executive Director Mr. Tissa Wijetunga, Senior Programme & Administrative Officer Mr. Sanath Jayatunga, Programme Consultant Mr Jude James and several other staff members too participated.

This arrangement decided in lieu of holding them in Colombo, to continue implementing the planned activities of the ongoing project with NLEAP proved to be a success.
