SLCDF is fortunate to receive immediate response from its partners overseas at a time when globally every country is affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the assistance from one of our prime donors- Palmera Projects Australia where the ‘Village to Markets (V2M)’ programme is being implemented in the
Polonnaruwa District, SLCDF commenced distribution of dry rations worth Rs. 2500 each for 35 identified families on the 25th of March, 2020

They comprise of elderly and individuals with long-term diseases and disabled individuals under the ‘Graduating the Poor’ of the V2M programme.

“Gemi Sarana Maha Sangamaya” the local partner in Polonnaruwa took over the task to select the families, packeting and distribution of the dry ration parcels despite the islandwide curfew currently in place. The programme will continue through 27th to 29th March, 2020.
