A certificate awarding ceremony was held on the 20th of March 2018 at the Baddegama Town Hall in Galle district to appreciate the trainers who have completed the Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on Solid Waste Management of ‘Community based Environmental Management Programme’.
Fifty TOT trainers received the certificates as a symbol of completing the training successfully. The training was organized by NGO Management Development Centre (NGOMDC) in association with SLCDF and the programme is funded by the USAID/Development Innovations Group.These trainers were selected from the participating 22 villages in Galle District under the 30-month programme.
Mr. A. U. Welaratne, Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, Livestock and Development, Environment, Rural Development, Power and Rural & Plantation Infrastructure Development, Southern Province graced the occasion as the Chief-Guest. Representatives from the Local Government Authorities, SLCDF staff, NGOMDC, Galle District Consortium and member NGOs and those from the private and public sector too were present at this event.
