Building blocks for a bee keeping hub – Buttala

On-the-job training was provided to identified leader beekeepeers and to other participating families mainly dealing with swarm management and day to day problems cropping up in the beekeeping programme of the HIDA (Hope International Development Agency) funded Integrated Farming Project located in and around Buttala, Moneragala District on 26th 27th and 28th of April, 2014, by Dr. R.W.K. Punchihewa, Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Biology, The leading expert on bee keeping in Sri Lanka who serves as Technical Adviser to the project. He was conducting the technical monitoring component of the project which is an essential feature of the programme for sustaining quality assurance and follow-up of training provided as well during this period.

On the 27th of April the regular monthly Monitoring Committee meeting of the HIDA funded project also took place, with Wellassa Kantha Sahayogitha Padanama and its associated CBOs, as well as SLCDF participation.
