30 Years: Lessons learnt and strengthening of bonds

Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation steps into its 30th year in the NGO sector. SLCDF hopes to mark this year through a symposium themed “Trust the People, Learn from the Community, Serve the Society”. This event is to take place on the 14th of November 2017 at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research & Training Institute (HARTI) from 8.30 am to 2.00 pm.
The 30 year journey of this non-profit organization since 1987 mainly focused on issues relating to poverty and inequality in Sri Lanka by working with local communities in a collaborative and sustainable manner. The pathway to 30 years, has been an arduous yet memorable one where many bonds have been formed and lessons learnt. SLCDF has invited all its partners, donor organizations, officials and those who have been a part of this 30 year journey to be a part of this symposium.
The key program in the agenda includes presentations based on lessons learned by SLCDF and its network through its 30 years. An open discussion with the attendees is to take place after the conclusion of these presentations. This symposium is mainly held in retrospect of this long journey in appreciation of all those who have supported this organization spread to its roots throughout the island. It also should be noted that invitees are to be present from all corners of the island for the commemoration of this event.
